About us

Two decades of painting South Manchester

South Manchester Painting & Decorating is run by Liam Kelly — a time-served painter and decorator based in Chorlton, working across the city's southern suburbs.

The short version

Liam picked up a brush professionally over 20 years ago and never put it down. The business today is built almost entirely on repeat customers and word of mouth across Chorlton, Didsbury, Sale and the rest of South Manchester — the kind of trade you only earn by leaving jobs right.

How we work

It isn't complicated. We quote honestly, turn up when we said we would, and prepare surfaces properly before any paint goes on. We use trade-quality materials as standard and designer paints where the project deserves them. While the work's on, your home gets treated like ours: floors covered, furniture protected, everything cleaned and put back at the end of each day.

The work we love

South Manchester's housing stock is a gift for a decorator — Victorian terraces and villas, Edwardian semis, 1930s garden-suburb houses, modern apartments. High ceilings, original coving, sash windows, panelled doors: detail work that rewards patience and punishes shortcuts. It's the kind of work we built the business on.

Materials we trust

Dulux Trade, Farrow & Ball, Little Greene, Edward Bulmer — trade quality as the floor, never the ceiling.
